If you want to travel to the F1 race in Suzuka by public transport, we recommend using the following options:

Travelling from Tokyo

Tokyo to Nagoya
Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station to Nagoya Station.

• Train Line: Tokaido Shinkansen
• Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes
• Cost: Around 15,000 yen for a one-way ticket (90 USD)

Nagoya to Shiroko
Take the Kintetsu Limited Express from Nagoya Station to Shiroko Station.

• Train Line: Kintetsu Nagoya Line
• Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
• Cost: Around 1,500 to 2,500 yen for a one-way ticket

Shiroko Station to Suzuka F1 Circuit
Take a local bus or taxi from Shiroko Station to Suzuka Circuit.

• Bus Service: Mie Kotsu bus service (see shuttle details below)
• Duration: Approximately 30 minutes by shuttle or 15 minutes by taxi or 1+ hour by walk
• Cost: Around 1,000 yen for the shuttle or 2,000 yen for a taxi

Alternatives
You can also travel from Tokyo to Suzuka by bus, taking a bus from Tokyo to Nagoya and then continuing by train from Nagoya. The bus journey from Tokyo to Nagoya takes over 6 hours (tickets can be booked here). Alternatively, you can fly from Tokyo to Nagoya. However, the preferred method of travel is by train.

Travelling from Osaka

Osaka to Nagoya
Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Shin-Osaka Station to Nagoya Station.

• Train Line: Tokaido Shinkansen
• Duration: Approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour
• Cost: Around 6,000 yen (40 USD) for a one-way ticket

Nagoya to Shiroko
Take the Kintetsu Limited Express from Nagoya Station to Shiroko Station.

• Train Line: Kintetsu Nagoya Line
• Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
• Cost: Around 1,500 to 2,500 yen for a one-way ticket

Shiroko to Suzuka Circuit
Take a local bus or taxi from Shiroko Station to Suzuka Circuit.

Alternatives
You can also travel from Osaka to Suzuka by bus, taking a bus from Tokyo to Nagoya and then continuing by train from Nagoya. The bus journey from Osaka to Nagoya takes around 3 hours (tickets can be booked here).

Travelling from Nagoya

Nagoya to Shiroko

Extra tip
For travelling between Nagoya and Siroko Station it is worth purchasing a 5-day Kintetsu Rail Pass (it costs approximately 44 USD). With this ticket, you can travel unlimitedly for 5 days on the Kintetsu Rail line. More information here.

Shuttle: between Kintetsu Shiroko Station and Suzuka Circuit

During the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix weekend, temporary shuttle buses operate between Kintetsu Shiroko Station and Suzuka Circuit. No advance reservation is required.

However, during peak times queues can be long. In previous years, waiting times reached up to 2 hours in 2023 and around 1 hour in 2024.

Thursday (March 26)

• Shiroko Station → Circuit: 7:00 – 12:00
• Circuit → Shiroko Station: 12:30 – 18:00

Friday (March 27)

• Shiroko Station → Circuit: 6:30 – 12:00
• Circuit → Shiroko Station: 15:00 – 18:00

Saturday (March 28)

• Shiroko Station → Circuit: 6:30 – 13:00
• Circuit → Shiroko Station: 15:00 – 20:00

Sunday (March 29)

• Shiroko Station → Circuit: 6:00 – 13:00
• Circuit → Shiroko Station: 15:00 – 19:30

Note: The last shuttle bus from Suzuka Circuit departs at the end of the listed operating time each day.
