If you want to travel to the F1 race in Suzuka by public transport, we recommend using the following options:
Tokyo to Nagoya
Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station to Nagoya Station.
Nagoya to Shiroko
Take the Kintetsu Limited Express from Nagoya Station to Shiroko Station.
Shiroko Station to Suzuka F1 Circuit
Take a local bus or taxi from Shiroko Station to Suzuka Circuit.
Alternatives
You can also travel from Tokyo to Suzuka by bus, taking a bus from Tokyo to Nagoya and then continuing by train from Nagoya. The bus journey from Tokyo to Nagoya takes over 6 hours (tickets can be booked here). Alternatively, you can fly from Tokyo to Nagoya. However, the preferred method of travel is by train.
Osaka to Nagoya
Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Shin-Osaka Station to Nagoya Station.
Nagoya to Shiroko
Take the Kintetsu Limited Express from Nagoya Station to Shiroko Station.
Shiroko to Suzuka Circuit
Take a local bus or taxi from Shiroko Station to Suzuka Circuit.
Alternatives
You can also travel from Osaka to Suzuka by bus, taking a bus from Tokyo to Nagoya and then continuing by train from Nagoya. The bus journey from Osaka to Nagoya takes around 3 hours (tickets can be booked here).
Nagoya to Shiroko
Take the Kintetsu Limited Express from Nagoya Station to Shiroko Station.
Shiroko to Suzuka Circuit
Take a local bus or taxi from Shiroko Station to Suzuka Circuit.
Extra tip
For travelling between Nagoya and Siroko Station it is worth purchasing a 5-day Kintetsu Rail Pass (it costs approximately 44 USD). With this ticket, you can travel unlimitedly for 5 days on the Kintetsu Rail line. More information here.
During the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix weekend, temporary shuttle buses operate between Kintetsu Shiroko Station and Suzuka Circuit. No advance reservation is required.
However, during peak times queues can be long. In previous years, waiting times reached up to 2 hours in 2023 and around 1 hour in 2024.
